Overview of Fulghum Fibres' Brewton, Alabama Facility

Fulghum Fibres' Brewton Alabama chipping facility was built and started up in 1993.  The mill was one of the first super mills built by Fulghum Fibres.

The mill processes approximately 1,000,000 tons per year with 60% pine and 40% hardwood for Georgia Pacific.  It also has a Fulghum 125' and 155' with a Fulghum 14' x 90' drum debarker.

Pictured above is the main mill line with the control cab located on the right.

The mill also has a small radial stacker.  The stacker is fed from the accepts conveyor after the drum screens (left center of picture).

A recent addition to the chip mill is the storage pad with the tripper conveyor.  This pad can store approximately 7,000 ton along with 2,000 tons that can be stores on the radial stacker storage pad.

One of the main focuses at each of our mills is cleanliness.  A clean mill is a safe mill.

The control cab is one of the most important locations in the mill as this operator controls and monitors the incoming wood to the chipper infeed.  The chipper is a Fulghum 120"-14 knife horizontal feed bottom discharge.
