Fulghum Fibres Gold Hill Facility Update
Fulghum Fibres' Gold Hill, Virginia facility is located just west of
Richmond, VA and was constructed in 2005. The facility processes
approximately 300,000 tons per year of pine for MeadWestvaco

The facility's debarker and chipper are enclosed in an insulated
building to control the noise levels for the surrounding area.
This allows for the facility be below any local noise ordinances, and
also controls any dust that may be present during the debarking and
chipping process. The mill is fed with (2) Fulghum 125' electronic
variable radial cranes.

The heart of any Fulghum Fibres chip mill is the chipper. This
particular chipper is a Fulghum 96" - 8 knife horizontal feed bottom
discharge. As with any Fulghum Fibres facility, knife changes will
be made as often as necessary. If there is any change in quality
the mill is shut down and the knives are changed. This allows us
to produce the highest quality chip for our customers.

The facility has the capability to load both rail cars and chip trucks.
